Sperling, M.D., FACC, FAHA, FACP, MASPC, who is the Founder and was the Director of The Heart Disease Prevention Center at Emory (1997-2019). We bring to you “Lipid tests to know in 2025”. He is currently the Katz Professor in Preventive Cardiology at the Emory University School of Medicine and Professor of Global Health in the Rollins School of Public Health. Dr. Sperling serves as the Chief Medical Officer for the Family Heart Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on timely identification and improved care of people living with familial hypercholesterolemia and elevated Lp(a) through research, advocacy, and education. Dr. Sperling served as the Executive Director of the CDC / CMS Million Hearts Initiative from 2019-2024. He served as the President of the American Society for Preventive Cardiology from 2014-2016 and as a member of the writing committee of the 2018 ACC/ AHA/ Multi-Society Guideline on the Management on Blood Cholesterol. He currently is an Associate Editor for the American Journal of Preventive Cardiology, and Co-Chair of the World Heart Federation Roadmap on Multiple Metabolic Long-term Conditions and Integrated Care . He served on the Writing Committee of the American Heart Association Cardiovascular Kidney Metabolic Health (CKMH) Initiative which has brought forth the importance of an integrated approach to prevention and treatment in this high-risk population.
